East coast Canada today with Men of the Deeps. This group is a male vocal group of Cape Breton Miners. All the members of the group are or were coal miners. The group was formed in 1966 and among many accolades they were the first Canadian music group to tour China in 1977. With a mandate of preserving working and folk songs of Cape Breton their concerts feature them entering the stage dressed in the working clothes in pitch dark with their helmet lights on.
